We started working with Olivia and Kris for their Fall wedding at the very early stages of their wedding planning. New to San Diego, they chose La Jolla’s Birch Aquarium as a unique and very “San Diego” experience for their out of town guests. C’mon…just look at Birch Aquarium’s ocean views! I soon learned that this venue choice very much fit their fun loving and adventurous personalities which made it even more fun to create their out of the box design. We focused on creating a polished and coastal celebration without getting too beachy or aquatic, despite the atmosphere. Instead of going the traditional floral route, we went 95% flowerless, focusing on airplants, ferns, and tropical plants to add an organic and lively element to the aquarium’s educational atmosphere. Olivia was firm on “not wanting her wedding to look like a museum,” so we incorporated romantic market lighting, cozy family-style reception tables, and Blooms By Breesa Lee knocked it out of the park with designing one-of-a-kind centerpieces, filled with metallic and glass pieces, stained bottles, lanterns, driftwood, and candles.

From the relaxed ceremony to deeply personal toasts to the shark “bouquet” toss, we loved every minute of this day so so much. Cheers to our beautiful couple and the adventures that await!
